June 2025 Events Recap
On June 25, 2025, TEDxBoulderSalon hosted Ukraine: Stories of Innovation, Trauma, and Resilience! in Boulder, CO. We heard four stories that revealed how ordinary people confront war through courage, innovation, care, local leadership, and a shared passion for Ukraine. Speakers included Sunflower Seeds Ukraine’s Andriy Zakutayev who spoke about building drone defense systems to protect Ukraine's military. Other speakers included Roman Dzyvulskyi, a Ukrainian father who fled a Russian-occupied city with his family; Gaea Logan, a psychoanalyst from Boulder, who founded the International Institute for Trauma Studies in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, and Sarah Wilson Sokhey, an associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Colorado tracking ways that local governments are quietly strengthening Ukraine. Stephanie Sladnick organized and moderated the event. During the event, a new exciting Sister City relationship between Boulder and Vinnytsia, Ukraine was spotlighted. It is now on Boulder City Council’s desk for formal approval, which is expected in the coming months. Please click this link to watch a video of the event.
