DINE OUT FOR UKRAINE JULY 2025
When we hosted the first Dine Out for Ukraine event in July 2022, we were a new nonprofit with just a few volunteers, but Ukraine’s fight for freedom owned headlines and the attention of the world’s citizens. That year, more than 40 restaurants signed on to participate in Dine Out for Ukraine, helping us raise awareness of our small, new, all-volunteer nonprofit and more than $30,000. Those funds purchased and delivered more than 3,000 Individual First-Aid Kits for Ukrainians signing up to defend their country, including our friends and family. At the time, it did not seem that this unprovoked invasion would be allowed to continue. Echos of the WW2 slogan “never again” reverberated strongly then. Never did we imagine that three years later we’d be organizing the 4th Annual Dine Out for Ukraine. But russia’s unprovoked attacks and war crimes continue, and so we continue to raise funds to provide medical, protective, and tactical gear to Defenders and humanitarian aid to Ukrainian citizens.
In the three years since that first event, Dine Out for Ukraine has enabled us to purchase and deliver more than $75,000 in life-saving aid to Ukraine. It has grown into a community-, awareness-, and solidarity-building movement. It is a chance for our supporters to come together across the Front Range to show their support for Ukraine. It is a way to thank the local businesses that are showing their support for Ukraine and Sunflower Seeds Ukraine. Together, our participation bolsters a world order that honors independent countries’ sovereignty, NATO security guarantees, and democratic process.
Dine Out for Ukraine 2025 was a resounding success! More than 50 restaurants across the Front Range participated, and on July 24th, hundreds of supporters headed to those establishments to show their solidarity for Ukraine and support the eateries that support us. The numbers aren’t in yet, but with each eatery donating between 5% and 15% percent of the day's sales to Sunflower Seeds Ukraine, we’re sure to meet our goal of $25,000.
